Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh are getting ready for the highly anticipated and entertaining T20I tri-nation series, scheduled next month between March 6 and March 18. All of the three teams will be fancying their chances to claim their hands on the prestigious Nidahas Trophy, as any team can perform splendidly on its certain day as seen in recent times in Twenty20 cricket. Bangladesh’s experienced all-rounder and the recently named T20 captain Shakib al Hasan revealed some insights regarding his current injury and about the time-period, it would be requiring for the cricketer to be back on the field.
Shakib was recently pulled out of the away T20I series against Bangladesh after suffering a finger injury which he sustained the injury during the final ODI of the tri-series in January that involved Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. He hurt himself while fielding and could not come out to bat in that game, after which middle-order batsman Mahmudullah was appointed the stand-in captain for the T20 series against the Lankans. Bangladesh is however yet to announce their team for the upcoming tri-series, which is also a sigh of relief for the Tigers supporters.
The condition is improving with every coming day
The all-rounder mentioned that the status of his current injury seems to be going in an improving and positive manner with every day. But at the same time, nothing can be said at this moment on his return to the field from the sudden break. The Southpaw batsman is hopeful to return in time for the crucial upcoming tournament in Sri Lanka.
“Although my hand condition is getting better and better, it is hard to confirm anything at this moment. I’m hoping to take part in the tournament from the beginning,” said Shakib on his injury as quoted by bdcrictime.
He revealed the exact nature of his injury is the dislocation of bones for which he received numerous stitches in the treatment. The skipper also said that the wound is a quite huge one which will be needing some amount of time to get healed up.
“There was a dislocation of bones. Several stitches were done. With everything, the wound has been big,” further added the Bangladesh T20 skipper.
