Shakib Al Hasan, the veteran Bangladesh all-rounder, gifted his wife, Umme Ahmed Shishir, a brand-new Mercedes-Benz on the festival of Eid ul Adha. The couple is currently in the United States of America (USA) and have been staying there since the month of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The USA has had to bear the brunt of the deadly coronavirus as well.
However, despite the tough times, Shakib didn’t forget to make the festival a memorable one for his loved one. Shishir, who has been married to Shakib since December 12, 2012, posted a couple of adorable pictures of the car on her Instagram handle. The 31-year-old from Narayanganj-born captioned it and wrote, “My eidi from the husband.”
Here’s Umme Shishir’s post
Shakib is currently serving his suspension, imposed on him by the International Cricket Council (ICC) back in October last year. He failed to report three corrupt approaches from the bookies. Then he missed out on the tour of India and the away series against Pakistan. The southpaw also missed the 2019-20 edition of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Shakib Al Hasan became father in April
In the pandemic situation, the Magura-born Shakib has had moments of joy. Back in the month of April, the 33-year-old became father of a second daughter and named her Errum Hasan, which means Jannat (heaven). He and his spouse took to their social media handles to reveal the name of their daughter. Back in 2015, their first daughter Alaina Hasan was born.
As far as Shakib and Shishir’s relationship is concerned, they first met back in 2010 when Shakib was in England for his county stint with Worcestershire. At that time, Shishir was pursuing her higher studies there. From thereon, they bonded and a couple of years later, decided to enter wedlock. The duo hasn’t looked back and has given couple goals to a number of people.
They have also featured in a number of advertisements together. Shakib hasn’t played any form of cricket since October 2019. He last plied his trade for the Barbados Tridents in the 2019 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The fans have been waiting eagerly for his return to the field.
