Bangladesh superstar Shakib Al Hasan is currently busy in helping his nation fight the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. He has already donated testing kits to hospitals and clinics apart from serving food to the poor people during these tough times. Moreover, the cricketer also auctioned his World Cup 2019 bat with which the left-hander scored a lot of runs last year.

The bat was sold for a whopping amount of £ 19,000 (approximately Rs 17.86 lakh). This amount will be donated for the nation’s fight against Coronavirus. Amidst the lockdown in most of the countries, the cricketers aren’t left with much to do. They are either spending time with their family or going live on social media in order to interact with the fans.

Shakib Al Hasan also did the same on Wednesday even as his bat was being auctioned live. As soon as he came live, the fans bombarded their questions for him. However, the cricketer chose to answer only a few and one of them was extremely unique.

Lionel Messi is Shakib’s favourite Football player

The fan asked Shakib Al Hasan apart from his wife Shishir, whom would he take to the moon if he gets a chance. The 33-year-old didn’t waste any time and expressed his wish to travel to the moon with the Argentina Football star Lionel Messi. According to a report in bdcrictime, the cricketing superstar of Bangladesh has a lot of interest in Football and Messi is the only reason he is a fan of Spanish Football Barcelona.

As far as his cricketing journey is concerned, Shakib Al Hasan is currently serving a ban imposed by the ICC for not reporting a corrupt approach for fixing. His ban is supposed to end during the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to commence on October 18 in Australia. However, with the country banning foreigners until September 30 due to the COVID-19 fear, the tournament is in doubt at the moment.

The ICC is set to meet to discuss the possibilities of going ahead with the mega event later this year and is expected to come up with a conclusion.
