Shane Warne cleared over porn star assault allegation

Shane Warne has denied claims about him punching a porn star at a private nightclub in London’s Mayfair on Saturday night. Valeria Fox, 30, accused the former Australian cricketer of punching her after an altercation between the two. Fox filed a complaint and also posted a picture on Twitter, accusing Warne. She termed Warne as ‘famous’ and added that just because he is famous doesn’t mean he can hit a woman and get away.

The spin wizard attended a central London police station on Sunday afternoon, where he was quizzed by police over the allegations. Warne released a statement today (Monday) and confirmed that he has been cleared of all the charges against his name.

“Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature,” Ms Fox wrote on Twitter. “No, I am not lying. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can hit women and get away with it.” she added.

Warne clears the air

“I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault,” Warne said. “I have fully co-operated with the police, and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses. The police have confirmed to me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken. This is now the end of the matter.” he wrote on social media.

Fox, who has worked in numerous pornographic films, thanked her followers on social media for all the support after the day of the incident. She also said that it meant a lot to her. Fox then posted a photograph of Steven Lee Myers book, The New Tsar: the rise and reign of Vladimir Putin and added a caption which read: “Nothing like a new book to cheer a girl up.”
