Australia, ever since the ball-tampering saga, have struggled to make a mark in the international arena. They are missing their gun players, Steve Smith and David Warner, badly as they are serving the 12-month suspension period imposed on them by Cricket Australia. Amidst all the crisis, Shaun Marsh has been the standout performer for them and his form was the only positive they were able to take away in their recent ODI series against England.

The selectors were worried after the 35-year-old left-hander was injured while playing a T20 match for Glamorgan in the ongoing T20 Blast. He suffered a shoulder injury and one felt that he might have to sit out for a lengthy stint once again.

Physios confident of Marsh getting fit

Australia are set to travel to the United Arab Emirates in the early October and they will need their best batsman to get fit in time. After the injury, there were chances of him going under the surgery, but according to news.com.au, the physios are confident of Shaun Marsh hitting the straps again in the lead up to an all-important tour.

He was in scintillating form against England in the five-match ODI series and smashed two centuries. He amassed 288 runs at an average of 57.60. As far as his form in the whites is concerned, he was the second highest run-getter in the Ashes for his team and bailed them out of the trouble a number of times.

The news of his fitness comes as a delighting news for the Aussies who are struggling completely even to compete these days. Marsh is a good player of spin as well and his experience will be huge for them in the country where they were whitewashed last time by Pakistan. The itinerary for the tour is expected to get finalised soon and the fans will keep their fingers crossed for Marsh to get fit.
