Sheldon Cottrell, the brilliant Jamaican fast bowler, who has taken the world by storm with his amazing ability to swing the ball and pick some amazing wickets. Apart from that, the bowler is also famous for his military salute celebration which is loved by everyone. He is also very active on social media and often hosts Q&A sessions with his fans.

Cottrell had made his Test debut way back in 2013 against India in the Sachin Tendulkar farewell series. After being in the wilderness for some time, Cottrell came back into limelight recently for his amazing swing bowling, doing justice to his immense promise. In a very short time, he has shown that the West Indies have unearthed a very good pacer who knows the real spirit of Caribbean cricket.

‘Ask me who is the best dancer, fast bowlers don’t have favorite batsmen’

Cottrell, who isn’t a part of the West Indies Test team that is currently engaged with the Indian team in the second Test of the two-match series in Jamaica, was on Twitter having some conversation with his fans. One of the fans asked Cottrell about his favorite batsman from the Indian team. He had picked four wickets in the three-T20I series against India recently.

To this question, Cottrell showed his true Jamaican spirit and answered that being a fast bowler, he doesn’t have any favorite batsmen, as they hated every batter. Fast bowlers wanted to dismiss every batsman they face. He asked the fan to instead ask him, who his favorite dancer was. Cottrell tweeted, “I’m a bowler we don’t have favorite batsmen! Ask me who the best dancer is then! We want all the batsmen out!”

Meanwhile, it is his team that is struggling in the second Test which is being played in his home country. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, Jason Holder and his men conceded 416 runs to the Indian team as half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma supported a brilliant maiden ton from Hanuma Vihari who made 111 runs.

In reply, the Windies batting crumbled thanks to some amazing swing and seam bowling from Jasprit Bumrah who ended the second day with figures of 6/16. These figures included a hat-trick in which the right-hand quick bowler from Gujarat dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase in consecutive balls, to become the third Indian and 44th overall bowler to achieve the feat.
