The ritual fasting becomes serious for Muslim athletes and sportspersons who play outdoor games that require some tremendous physical hard work and cannot even drink water. This thing was emphasized by Shikhar Dhawan during the Eliminator match of the IPL 2019 between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Visakhapatnam, stadium.

Dhawan hails Nabi and Rashid for playing while fasting and the latter thanked

There are many Muslim players who are currently participating in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League not only from India but also from foreign nations, including two big names from Afghanistan. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan are part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team and their former teammate Shikhar Dhawan, who now opens the innings for Delhi Capitals wished everyone on Ramadan and lauded his friends for playing while fasting.

Shikhar Dhawan was traded to Capitals before the auction in exchange for three players, as he was unhappy about the pay he was receiving at SRH and wanted to go into the auction pool.

Dhawan wrote on his official Twitter account, “Wishing everyone #RamadanKareem. So proud of them! It is not easy to fast the whole day & then play the match. But they make it look effortless! Inspiration for their country & world cricket! Your energy motivates everyone to dream big. May Allah’s blessings be with you!”

Obviously, Rashid Khan was the first to reply to Dhawan’s tweet “Brother thank you so much for your kind words. They mean allot to me. Always good to see you and catch up! Keep smiling as always and hope to see you soon!”
