Shikhar Dhawan donates money to the families of martyred soldiers in Pulwama attack

The nation is stunned ever since the Pulwama Terrorist attack. More than 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives on Thursday. Jaish-e-Mohammed took the responsibility of the attack and ever since then, the people of India including the cricketers and the celebrities have been expressing their grief over the unfortunate incident. There have been also calls of helping the families of the martyred soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has donated the money (amount not disclosed) to the families of the soldiers and has also urged the fans and followers to do everything they can for them.

He released a video on his official Twitter handle and was clearly disappointed with what happened in Pulwama earlier this week. “We can never recover the loss of their families,” he said in the video and also ended it with ‘Jai Hind’.

Dhawan to be back on the field against Australia

Shikhar Dhawan, meanwhile, is enjoying a small break from the game and will be back on the field for the upcoming series against Australia. He was part of India’s limited-overs squad in Australia and New Zealand and couldn’t set the stage entirely on fire. With the World Cup approaching, the left-handed batsman would love to make amends in the two T20Is and five ODIs against Australia starting from February 24.

His association with Rohit Sharma at the top of the order will be crucial for the Men in Blue in the mega event. The duo is one of the most successful opening duos in the 50-over format and a lot would depend on them on how India performs in the World Cup. There has been no rest to them though even as the reports surfaced that both Sharma and Dhawan will be rested during Australia series.
