Shikhar Dhawan thanks his fans for their well wishes for his ailing mother

Veteran Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan had to leave the Sri Lanka tour midway through the ODI series. He had headed back home in order to be with his ailing mother. On the eve of the final ODI of the five-match series, the news had come out in the media about the departure of Shikhar Dhawan from the island nation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Mr. Amitabh Chaudhary, had then remarked that Dhawan would miss the final ODI, and also the one off T20I against Sri Lanka.

He had reasoned out that the veteran batsman wishes to be with his ailing mother. He had further added that she is recovering well and is in a good health. “Mr Dhawan’s mother is stable and is recovering well at the moment,” Amitabh Chaudhary had quoted.

Now, the man in the picture, Shikhar Dhawan himself has confirmed the same. In his most recent social media update, Shikhar exclaimed that his mother is recovering well and is in good health now. He thanked his fans for the well wishes that they kept showering on him and his family. Shikhar also posted a picture with his mother on his Instagram account.

“Hey guys thanks for wishes and care for my mother health, she is mch better and recovering fast!!” wrote Shikhar Dhawan.

On field times

Talking about the on field performances, Shikhar has been in a rampaging form. He has been the one of the most consistent batsmen for India in the recent times. He was adjudged as the Player of the Series in the Test series in Sri Lanka which India won by 3-0. He had translated his good form to the ODIs as well, scoring a ton in the very first match.
