Shimron Hetmyer's hilarious reaction grabs attention after Sanju Samson pulled his leg during speech

Rajasthan Royals middle-order batter Shimron Hetmyer came up with an epic reaction after Sanju Samson mocked him while delivering a speech in front of his teammates in the dressing room. The men in pink had a wonderful season after finishing runners-up with the loss to Gujarat Titans in the finals of IPL 2022. They produced some remarkable performances throughout the tournament and a lot of credit goes to their auction strategy.

Samson in just his second season as captain looked a lot calmer and composed behind the stumps and he had one of the best bowling sides which helped a lot too. Jos Buttler kept piling up runs for the side at the top of the order to finish with the Orange Cap while Yuzvendra Chahal ended up with the Purple Cap. Acknowledging the side’s performance, team director Kumar Sangakkara delivered a phenomenal speech on the takeaways while skipper Samson stepped in as well.

Sanju Samson showed gratitude to the entire support staff for backing his decisions throughout the tournament and noted his learning curve as well. He lavished praise on Sangakkara for the way the latter has carried the side massively and recalled the memories from last season when they had to settle for the 7th and 8th position.

“Honestly, thanks a lot to each and every one. Thanks a lot for trusting in my decision-making. I think I might have made some bad decisions but some good decisions. I am definitely learning and growing as a leader as well. Thanks a lot, Sanga (Kumar Sangakkara – Director of cricket, RR). I think a huge credit goes to Sanga for taking care of the group as a strong leader. The way you communicate through the ups and downs.”

“I think yes this season we had a lot of good happy memories but last season I know we were fighting for 7th and 8th position and I think the way you managed the team was really unbelievable. And I would like to thank each and every staff, the supporting staff, physios, masseurs, almost everyone actually,” Samson told in the video posted by RR on Twitter.

While thanking everyone around the corner, Samson poked fun at Hetmyer for having dinner while delivering a great speech. The response from Hetmyer was quite epic and left the fans in splits. He also signed off his speech with a humorous note by stating that it was the longest speech he has delivered in his lifetime.

“And Hettie, thanks for eating that dinner while I am giving a great speech,” he added.
