Shoaib Akhtar requests Sachin to pick him in the Blasters squad: The “Rawalpindi Express” Shoaib Akhtar has shown his desire to play for Sachin Tendulkar’s team, ‘Sachin Blasters’, in the upcoming ‘Cricket All-Star’ tournament. Shane Warne’s team has been named ‘Warne Warriors’.

The pair will be joined by an impressive list of former internationals for the event that will feature three matches on drop-in pitches in New York, Houston and Los Angeles.

The first match of the T20 tournament will be played on 7th November at Citi Field in New York while the second T20 has been scheduled for November 11 at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The third T20, which will be the only match to be played under floodlights, will be held at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Pakistani speedster wants to be in Sachin’s team because he has had enough battles with the batsman, and now wants to pair up with him for good. He also admitted that everyone in India wants him to face Sachin.

Akhtar stated his views in a talk-show on StarSports, “I hope Sachin picks me in his team. Sachin, I request you, I am done battling with you, please pick me in your team. I know that every Indian wants to see me opposite you but please pick me in your team,” the pacer said.

The team line-ups for Warne’s Warriors and Sachin’s Blasters are yet to be finalised but will be selected from a squad of players including Michael Vaughan, Graeme Swann, Virender Sehwag, Ricky Ponting, Glenn McGrath, Andrew Symonds, Brian Lara, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Wasim Akram, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jacques Kallis and many others.
