The prominent Bollywood actor Salman Khan was sentenced five years of jail for poaching black bucks by Jodhpur High Court on Thursday. He was convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. He was found guilty of poaching two blackbucks in the Kankani village of Rajasthan while shooting for Bollywood film Hum Saath Saath Hai way back in September 1998. However, the former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has sympathized with Salman and feels the punishment is too harsh.
Recently, the likes of Shahid Afridi and few of the Indian cricketers were involved in a banter after the former had commented on the ‘India’ occupied Kashmir. All is not well as far as the relation between the cricketers is concerned. But Shoaib’s message for Salman Khan has surprised everyone as he has supported the Indian actor.
Shoaib feels bad for Salman’s fans
Shoaib Akhtar was disappointed after knowing about the punishment to Salman Khan and took to social media website Twitter to express the same. He felt that five years jail was too harsh on the actor and was sad for him. Shoaib also felt for his fans who are spread all over the world and also the family which will suffer the most after this decision. He was also confident that Salman will come out of this case soon.
“Really Sad to see my friend Salman Khan sentenced for 5 year But the Law must take its course & we got to respect the decision of honourable court of India but i still think punishment is to harsh but my heart goes to his family & fans .. Am sure he will out soon,” he tweeted in favour of the famous actor.
While Salman was sentenced jail, other prominent names like Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari were acquitted due to the lack of evidence.
