Until Virat Kohli hitched to Anushka Sharma last year in December, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza’s was the most discussed marriage in the fraternity. Unfortunately, their relationship was also controversial with Mirza, the Indian Tennis star, marrying a Pakistan cricketer with all not being well between the two countries. Eight years down the line, the couple is expecting a baby and there have been numerous speculations about its nationality.

Both, Sania and Shoaib, have cleared many times about the same even as the former also went on to say that she hasn’t married the Pakistan cricketer to unite both the countries. She has also said that the nationality of their baby is the least bothered issue for them and they ignore all the comments related to it. But the question continues to pop up in the media every now and then which irks the couple.

Malik’s perfect response

Shoaib Malik is gearing up for the much-awaited Asia Cup which is all set to get underway on September 15. He was part of the 18-man camp which took place in Lahore and has also been included in the squad. But amidst these preparations, he was recently asked about his baby’s nationality by one of the reporters. “What will be the nationality of your baby?” the reporter asked.

Malik, understandably disappointed with the question, came up with a smart reply to shut down the debate once and for all. “If you were a proper uncle you wouldn’t ask such a question,” he was quoted as saying by Pak Passion which impressed by many and maybe this doubt will never come in anyone’s mind now.

Meanwhile, Shoaib and his team lead by Sarfraz Ahmed will be facing India on September 19 in the Asia Cup. There is also a possibility of the two teams facing four days later in the Super Four stage of the tournament.
