Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik trolled Ahmed Shehzad hilariously after the latter wished him for becoming the highest run-getter for Pakistan in T20Is. Both the players are a part of the national team in the ongoing Independence Cup against the visiting World XI side in Lahore at the Gaddafi Stadium. The home team lost the nail-biting second T20 International by 7 wickets courtesy Thisara Perera’s blitzkrieg in the final few overs.

Lahore was once again buzzing during the game and unlike the first match, when there were a few empty stands, the second match was absolutely jam packed and the atmosphere in the middle was ecstatic. The return of cricket in Pakistan is on its way to being successful with only one game to be played. The response of the crowd has been excellent and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been overwhelmed.

Witty reply from Shoaib Malik

The revival of cricket has made players the emotional which is natural as they are playing in front of their home crowd after a really long time. Especially the second T20I was absolutely special as the atmosphere at the ground was fantastic. Shoaib Malik was delighted with the response and took to Twitter to thank the people of Lahore. His message for his followers read, “Lahore, tussi great ho! today your support gave all Pakistani cricketers including me goosebumps. Feels so surreal #PakvsWXI.”

Ahmed Shehzad, who is always trending on Twitter, replied to his teammate’s message and also congratulated Malik by terming him ‘great’ for becoming the highest run-getter for Pakistan in T20Is surpassing Umar Akmal. His reply was, “Lhr toh great hai hi but tussi bhi bht great ho.. what an achievement in this historical series.. congratz bro @realshoaibmalik #PakvsWXI.”

Malik though was quick to respond to Shehzad’s congratulatory message and took a funny dig at him. He mocked Shehzad and asked him to give the opportunity to call him as a ‘great player’. His reply read, “Thank you bro kabhi mujhe bhi mauqa de apko great bolne ka.”

While the people generally troll Shehzad very badly for his posts on social media, this is the first instance that one of his teammates has did that.

Here is all the conversation between the two:
