2020 was going to be a big year for Shubman Gill. The young batsman was likely to get an entire season of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he would have opened the innings. However, his dreams have now been put on hold due to the coronavirus threat.
The crisis has also robbed him of a chance to play in the IPL as of now. The Punjab batsman is currently spending time with his family like every other player. During this lockdown, many cricketers have considered interacting with their fans on social media. Gill also decided to conduct a Question and answer session with his fans on Twitter. During this interaction, the fans asked him several questions and the right-handed batsman duly responded.
Hey guys hope everyone is staying safe. Well, I am up for a Q&A session. So all you got to do is ask me your questions using #AskShubman

One of the fans asked Gill who was his favourite batsman and he unsurprisingly named Sachin Tendulkar. Like many other Indian cricketers, it seems the master blaster has inspired this young man as well. Further, a fan also asked who was his favourite foreign batsman. Without messing around the answer much, Shubman Gill named former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting.

Shubman Gill shares his experience of playing with Andre Russell
After a few cricketing questions, a fan swept in with a question regarding football. The fan asked Shubman Gill who he liked more between Messi and Ronaldo. Without any hesitancy, the cricketer chose the former. Interestingly, a question came in from the KKR’s official Twitter handle where the franchise asked him to share his experience of batting with the West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell.
To this, the 20-year-old batsman said that batting with Russell is like watching a highlights match from the non-striker’s end. “From the non strikers end, it was like watching the highlights on TV”, Gill replied.

Shubman Gill is someone who has been talked about having a very bright future in international cricket. Since the time he was named the man of the tournament at the ICC U19 World Cup 2018, Gill has made giant strides in domestic cricket.
He has been with the Indian squad for the past few months but hasn’t really got his opportunity yet. Gill has scored heavily for Punjab in all formats for the past couple of seasons. He could break into the Indian side anytime in the near future.
