The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has forced the countries to go into lockdown. India is also no different as the nation is under complete lockdown since March 24 and will be the same way until May 3 as of now. This has forced the cricketers to resort to social media to interact with their teammates, fans or even the media at times.

It was the talented Mumbai cricketer Siddhesh Lad’s turn to go live  on Instagram on Friday where he revealed some of the interesting insights of his career thus far. He also recalled his memorable Indian Premier League (IPL) debut last season after a long wait of five years with the Mumbai Indians (MI).

In an interaction with CricTracker, he also answered a few interesting questions in a rapid fire round and picked MS Dhoni as his favourite Indian captain. The 27-year-old pointed out that the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has proved his mettle while leading India and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the years and is the only skipper to win all the ICC titles.

Siddhesh Lad picks Alia Bhatt as his favourite actress

Siddhesh Lad picked the Bollywood Diva Alia Bhatt, who has a massive fan following for the movies she has done over the years, as his favourite actress during the interaction. As far as his on-field skills are concerned, Lad is a brilliant bowler as well and picked quite a few wickets for Mumbai during the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali season.  Rather he has picked 18 wickets including a five-wicket haul (5/13) in the T20 format in 44 matches.

For the same reason he was asked to choose one among facing Jasprit Bumrah and bowling to the Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell. Interestingly, Siddhesh Lad opted to face his former Mumbai Indians teammate Bumrah rather than bowling to the swashbuckler like Russell.

Going by Siddhesh Lad’s IPL career, he was traded by MI to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last year ahead of the 2020 auction and was excited to play for his new team this season. Unfortunately, the cash-rich league has been suspended until the further notice due to the ongoing pandemic.
