Last Sunday, Gayle-storm had hit the PCA stadium in Mohali. Chris Gayle had announced his return in style scoring 63 runs in just 33 balls with the help of 4 sixes. Mahi-mayhem happened too. However, Dhoni’s fabulous 79-run innings failed to take his side over the line but the fans at the stadium wouldn’t have asked for anything better. Their side winning and everyone’s favorite MS Dhoni blasting the bowlers out of the park. Dhoni was carrying the back injury during his valiant knock.
Dhoni misses the training session at new home
Now, CSK is in Pune which has now become their new home as they have been forced out from their den at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai because of political tension. During the practice session at the ground, the skipper of the side was missing. During the post-match presentation, Dhoni had said that this could just be a minor injury and he should be ready to roar for their next game.
However, the CSK management has not spoken about his injury which allows people to speculate his chances of playing in the next game. With him missing the training session makes things more tricky for the side. Notably, they have already lost Kedar Jadhav to the injury and Faf du Plessis fitness is still under scrutiny.
Raina in full-flow in the training
The good news for the CSK is that Suresh Raina was seen practicing without any issues and discomfort. His return will boost the chances of the side in the upcoming games. Raina missed first-ever CSK game in the side’s last outing due to calf muscle strain which saw an old Dhoni tearing the bowlers apart through his old approach of “take the game to last over”.
CSK has now moved to a wicket which traditionally does not support the spinners which eventually is the strength of CSK, it will be interesting to see the lineup of the side when they take the field on Friday against Rajasthan Royals.
