Former India head coach Ravi Shastri posted a photo of himself on Twitter enjoying the ongoing Wimbledon 2023. The 61-year-old also shared a bold prediction stating that the young Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz is the favourite to win after the player's remarkable growth in his short professional career.
Notably, Shastri was watching Alcaraz play against Nicholas Jarry in the round of 16. Meanwhile, this is not the first time when the former cricketer has marked his presence in Tennis’ most extravagant tournament as he has been spotted multiple times watching some top games in Wimbledon.
“First Saturday packed centre court closed roof and a Grand slam winner on view. @carlosalcaraz. Special as always @Wimbledon,” Shastri tweeted.

On the cricketing front, Shastri was extremely disappointed after India’s humiliating loss at the hands of Australia in the World Test Championship finale. The former head coach wanted more practice time for the lads as most of them failed to make a mark after the sudden switch from Indian Premier League to red-ball cricket.
He explained that the team needed at least 20 days to understand the conditions and adjust. He expects BCCI to consider this in the future and make plans according to it as it has created quite a fuss in Indian cricket at the moment.
On the other hand, after a month-long break, India are once again set to make their return in the upcoming series against West Indies. After losing the final, the selectors took some bold decisions as Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the squad while Ajinkya Rahane has been reappointed as the vice-captain of the team. Meanwhile, the two-match Test series is all set to begin on July 12 in Dominica while the three-match ODI series will begin soon after that.
India will also play a five-match T20I series as Hardik Pandya will be seen leading the team on the Caribbean shores. A lot of changes were spotted in the team as the likes of Yashasvi Jasiwal and Tilak Varma earned their maiden call in the shortest format.
