Delhi Capitals' IPL 2023 encounter against Mumbai Indians was heading in favour of the five-time champions before the home side struck with three quick wickets, the MI skipper being the biggest of the lot. Rohit Sharma, who was looking in sublime touch, had to depart after Delhi's young Indian wicketkeeper Abishek Porel dived to his right to pull off a stunning catch.

Mumbai Indians had a firm grasp on the contest as Rohit's batting partner Tilak Varma flicked the switch and smashed Mukesh Kumar for three consecutive boundaries in the 16th over of the chase. However, the match turned on its head when the Delhi pacer dismissed the well-set Tilak Varma and the incoming Suryakumar Yadav on consecutive deliveries.

The visitors suffered another setback in the next over after skipper Rohit Sharma had to make the long way back to the dressing room after Delhi's young wicketkeeper Abishek Porel pulled off a sensational grab. Rohit's dismissal after amassing 65 runs off just 45 deliveries reignited the hopes of the home side.

Cameron Green and Tim David help Mumbai to their first win in a last-ball thriller

Delhi, chasing their first victory of the tournament, grew into the contest after a quiet over from South African speedster Anrich Nortje. However, Mustafizur Rahman's first outing in this year's tournament turned awry after he conceded two maximums in the penultimate over to hand the initiative to the Mumbai batters.

But the game turned out to be a nail-biting thriller after Nortje returned to bowl a sublime final over of the match, only to end up on the losing side as the pair of Tim David and Cameron Green dragged their side home on the very last delivery of the match.
