IPL 2023: Deepak Chahar picks between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his favourite wicket

Chennai Super Kings continued their brilliant run in IPL 2023 as they beat Delhi Capitals by 27 runs on Wednesday, May 10, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Deepak Chahar shone with the ball, as he picked up 2/28 in his three-over spell and helped CSK restrict DC to 140/8 in the second innings in reply to CSK’s score of 167/8.

Recently, Chahar was asked to choose between Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma as his favourite wicket being a bowler at an event. The star seamer answered the tough question and said that since he’s picked Rohit’s wicket several times, Kohli is his favourite wicket.

“I have got Rohit Bhai many times. So, Virat Kohli,” said Chahar.

During the game against DC, the right-arm seamer got his team off to a great start as he picked the prized scalp of David Warner in the first over itself dismissing him for a duck. He later returned in the third over of the innings and got rid of the dangerous Philip Salt to give the second blow to DC inside the powerplay.

Chahar is still not 100% fit despite returning back to the field

Following the early blows, DC were always behind in the game and faltered against some top-notch bowling by CSK. Chahar recently made a return to IPL 2023 during Chennai’s fixture against Lucknow Super Giants. The 30-year-old injured his hamstring while bowling during his side’s third game vs Mumbai Indians and got off the field after bowling just one over.

The Uttar Pradesh-born seamer, recently, revealed that he’s still not 100 per cent fit but is still trying to contribute to his team. In the six games that he’s played so far in the tournament, Chahar has picked four wickets at an average of 45.25 and a strike rate of 9.52.

Meanwhile, CSK have retained their second spot on the IPL points table with seven wins from 12 games having 15 points. They will next face Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, May 14, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
