The heartwarming scene even caught the attention of former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who could not help but react to the touching moment.

Sri Lanka had previously secured the T20I series with a 2-1 victory. However, their fortunes took a turn in the ODI series, with England winning the first match by seven wickets and dominating the second ODI as well, however, match was washed out due to rain.

In the end, as England continued to assert their dominance on the field, the beautiful moment grabbed everyone's attention on and off the field. The third and last game of the series will be played on September 14 at Grace Road, Leicestershire, with England leading 1-0.
