Fans gift miniature model of Chepauk Stadium to Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in their final league fixture in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, on Saturday, May 20. With this win, the four-time champions secured their spot in the playoff.

Dhoni's 'devotion' to the game of cricket remains unparalleled. Recently, a hardcore fan of the legendary CSK skipper was gifted a stunning miniature. Notably, it was a miniature model of Chennai's iconic Chepauk Stadium, gifted by fans Siva Kumar and Rajesh Nithish. Going by Dhoni's reaction, Mahi absolutely loved it and as a result, his reaction has now gone viral on social media.

The video of Dhoni with the miniature of the stadium was posted on an Instagram page named,  Instamsdhoni.fc.

"The craze for MS Dhoni is on another level," captioned the Instagram handle.

Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 77 runs in Delhi

Speaking about the match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. CSK openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave CSK a flying start and stitched a 141-run opening partnership. Gaikwad scored a 50-ball 79 runs while Conway smashed 87 off 52 deliveries. Later, Shivam Dube (22 off 9) and Ravindra Jadeja (20* off 7) as CSK posted 223 runs in 20 overs. For DC, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, and Anrich Nortje picked one wicket each.

During the chase, Tushar Deshpande produced a massive breakthrough for CSK by dismissing opener Prithvi Shaw. Deepak Chahar struck twice and dismissed Phil Salt for three runs and Rilee Rossouw for a duck. Meanwhile, skipper David Warner led the charge for DC, scoring 86 off 58 deliveries before being dismissed by Matheesha Pathirana. However, CSK bowlers were instrumental as DC were restricted to 146 in 20 overs. For CSK, Deepak Chahar claimed a three-wicket haul, while Maheesh Theekshana and the Impact Player, Matheesha Pathirana, picked two wickets each, and Deshpande and Jadeja made one scalp each.
