Team India dominated Australia in the first two Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The hosts retained the trophy after a fabulous display in the first two matches of the series. Despite India’s fabulous display, KL Rahul is one player who has been unable to perform across the two matches.
Rahul scored 20 runs in the first Test whereas he scored 17 and one run across the first and second innings of the second Test, respectively. Former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad took to Twitter to take a sly dig at KL Rahul’s record. Prasad wrote a series of tweets questioning the people who back KL Rahul given his overseas record. The 53-year-old shared statistics in his tweets and called out Rahul.
"There is a view that KL Rahul has an outstanding overseas Test record. But stats speak otherwise. He has a test avg. of 30 overseas in 56 innings. He has scored six overseas centuries but followed them up with a string of low scores, which is why he's averaging 30. Let's look at a few others," Prasad tweeted.

Prasad also compared Rahul’s stats to those of other Indian openers
Venkatesh Prasad has been one of KL Rahul’s biggest critics in recent times, and he continues to question the inclusion of the 30-year-old in the Indian team despite a string of poor performances. He also tweeted the stats of various other openers, like Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan, to better justify his point.
"Shikhar Dhawan has the best overseas average amongst recent openers. Avg of nearly 40 with 5 100's. Though he too hasn't been consistent in Test but had Outstanding centuries in SL and NZ, plus a much better home record," Prasad tweeted.

"Mayank Agarwal, after the brilliant start in Australia, struggled in away Test matches. But he has by far the best home record. Avg. of nearly 70 in 13 innings, 2 double 100s, and a 150 on a Wankhede pitch where everyone else struggled. Great against spin and had a prolific domestic season," he added.
