When asked to name her favourite cricketer and favourite team in the Indian Premier League, famous Kannada actress Rashmika Mandhanna picked Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The 27-year-old, who starred in movies like Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1, Varisu, Sita Ramam, and Mission Majnu among many others, termed Virat Kohli as a swagger and also said that the 34-year-old is awesome.
Meanwhile, justifying the reason behind supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mandanna stated that since she is from the same region, thus she loves the franchise. The actress also shared her desire to attend one of RCB’s matches in the ongoing IPL 2023 season.
“I am from Bangalore, I am from Karnataka and we have ‘Ee Sala Cup Namde’ slogan going on so I think that just carried on. I hope this time IPL I can go and see RCB play,” Mandanna said in a video tweeted by Star Sports.
“Virat Sir, he is a swagger, he is awesome,” Mandanna added when asked about her favourite cricketer.
Notably, Virat Kohli is in sensational form in the ongoing season. The 34-year-old has amassed 333 runs in eight matches so far and with that, he is fifth on the IPL Orange Cap list. Currently, the legendary cricketer is also leading the RCB franchise as regular skipper Faf du Plessis is only playing as an Impact Player.
RCB to play against LSG next
Luckow Super Giants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier in the season and thus, the three-time runner-ups will be gunning to finally get their revenge, when these two sides face each other on May 1 in Lucknow. Notably, they are currently sixth on the IPL Points Table and therefore, will aim to register a win and improve their standing in the competition.
However, in order to do so, their middle order needs to click, which hasn’t been the case so far. Faf, Virat, and Glenn Maxwell are playing exceptionally well but once they walk back to the pavilion, RCB struggles to get going. Even with the ball, players like Harshal Patel and David Willey, and Vijaykumar Vyshak need to improve massively.
