The story began five years ago when star batter Alyssa Healy gifted Evie Denyar a signed Australia cap and also posed for a couple of photographs in Chelmsford. Notably, despite being British, young Evie is a massive fan of the Australian women’s team and ever since Healy’s kind gesture, the love for Australia only grew.
Meanwhile, she was once again present in the full Aussie kit in the third T20I of the women's Ashes, which was played at the iconic Lord’s on July 8th. Spotting her in the crowd, Healy came to meet her, and this time around, the cricketer gifted her signed gloves and stated that the world needs more wicket-keepers and eventually thanked her for all the support.
“Thanks for coming out to support. If you're going to be a wicketkeeper, you're going to need some gloves, right? How about you take some gloves with you? We need more wicketkeepers in the world,” Healy said in a video.
“First the hat and now the gloves,” Evie replied being awestruck. Meanwhile, Healy also asked for a hug and Evie happily obliged.

England won the T20I series 2-1
After losing the first T20I of the series by four wickets, England made a solid comeback and sealed the series after losing the one-off Test. Notably, in the final match of the T20I series, the home team restricted Australia to 155 runs as players like Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry got the much-needed starts but failed to convert it into a big total. Nat Sciver-Brunt meanwhile picked up two wickets, while Charlotte Dean, Lauren Bell, Danielle Gibson and Sophie Ecclestone picked up one each.
When it came to the chase, Alice Capsey (46 runs off 23 deliveries) looked brilliant, while Danielle Wyatt and Sciver-Brunt contributed enough to help England win by five wickets (DLS method). Notably, the target was reduced to 119 runs in 14 overs as England chased it down pretty comfortably in the end.
