The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched a promo video for the highly anticipated World Test Championship 2023 (WTC) final between India and Australia, scheduled to begin on June 7 at The Oval in London.

The ICC’s promo video includes glimpses of both the teams' remarkable performances during the two-year WTC cycle as both the sides compete for one of the most prestigious titles in the longest format of the game.

The Rohit Sharma-led team will compete in the WTC final for the second time on the trot. The first edition of the marquee event, held in 2019-21, saw the clash between India and New Zealand in the final, which the Kane Williamson-led side won at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Notably, India have not had the best time in the last ten years at the ICC events, as the last time they won a trophy at this level was in 2013, when they defeated England in the Champions Trophy Final. Meanwhile, Rohit and Co. seem to be in fine form, as they recently defeated the Australua 2-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy in India in March 2023.

Meanwhile, the rivalry between two great Test batters Virat Kohli and Steve Smith will also be renewed in the WTC final. In their illustrious careers, both the mavericks have had their fair share of success and failures. Both batting stalwarts are likely to keep up their powers in the upcoming one-off Test.

Smith has 8792 runs from 169 innings in Test cricket with four double centuries, 30 centuries and 37 fifties, while Kohli has 8416 runs from 183 innings with seven double-centuries, 28 centuries and 28 fifties. The former India captain was also vital in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, finishing the series as the second-highest run-scorer with 297 runs, whereas Smith struggled, scoring only 145 runs.
