India bagged a thrilling victory over Pakistan
Speaking of how the game panned out, India won the toss and put Pakistan to bat first. Thanks to Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh, who picked up three wickets each, Pakistan batters could manage to post 159 runs on the scoreboard, thereby setting a target of 160 runs for the Men in Blue to chase in the high-pressure game.
India’s chase started terribly as openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were dismissed cheaply very early in the innings, and Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal added to India’s misery. Then, the 113-run stand between Virat Kohli and Pandya anchored the innings and kept India’s hopes alive in the game.
Pandya was dismissed in the final over off the very first delivery, but Kohli kept his calm under pressure. A lot of drama unfolded in the final few deliveries, which saw Virat Kohli hitting a six, Mohammad Nawaz bowling a no-ball, India getting three byes off the free-hit, Dinesh Karthik being stumped out, and finally, Ravichandran Ashwin scoring the winning runs for India on the ultimate ball of the game which saw the Men in Blue winning the encounter by four wickets.
