The third match of the five-match T20I series took place at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Batting first, the Indian team didn't have a good start. Suman Gill was adjudged LBW early in his innings, a decision he could have reviewed, but chose not to. Shortly after, Tilak Verma also fell on the first ball while attempting an attacking shot. Suryakumar Yadav came in and joined Yashasvi Jaiswal, and they both started playing aggressively. Although Surya initially seemed to struggle with a strike rate of around 100, Jaiswal looked great and scored 60 before getting dismissed.

From there, Surya started hammering the Proteas bowlers, scoring a brilliant century off just 55 balls with 7 fours and eight sixes. Jitesh Sharma and Rinku Singh also contributed, helping India reach a total of 201 runs. In their pursuit of the target, South Africa never got into the game, losing wickets at regular intervals. Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets for just 17 runs in his 2.5 overs spell. Only three South African batters reached double-digit scores, highlighting their struggle in the chase.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to face each other in the first ODI of the three-match series at the same venue on Sunday, December 17.
