India vice-captain Hardik Pandya was heard lashing out at a teammate on the stump mic when he asked for water during the first innings of the ongoing second ODI in Kolkata. The Rohit Sharma-led team India has locked horns with Sri Lanka in the second of the three-match 50-over series at the Eden Gardens.

Opting to bat first, the Lankan Lions posted an underwhelming total of 215 runs as they were bundled out in under 40 overs of the match. In the midst of the Indian bowling innings, just after the 11th over, Hardik was heard lashing out at his teammate. He claimed that he had asked for water in the 10th over but none of his teammates provided him with the same.

Sri Lanka post 215 runs on the board in 2nd ODI

Speaking about the match, India have restricted the neighbours to just 215 runs and will be on the lookout to seal the contest. While the match started off in Sri Lanka’s favour as the top-order hit the ground running swiftly, however, upon reaching the three-digit mark, wickets began falling one after the other in quick succession.

It is worth mentioning that the Men in Blue currently have a lead of 1-0 in the three-match series and a win in this fixture would essentially mean that the hosts will take an unassailable lead in the series. The Asia Cup 2022 winners will need to be on their toes if they want to remain alive in the series.

While the chase for 216 runs is on, team India looks to be the clear favourites in the contest thus far. It remains to be seen if Rohit Sharma and co. will be able to chase the low-scoring total with ease or will the Lankan Lions pull off a miracle.
