A spectator, who had turned up for the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka, held up play as he clicked a picture of the match ball after Virat Kohli hit it for a six in the stands off Lahiru Kumara's bowling.

The incident happened on the first delivery of the 46th over. Virat Kohli deposited Lahiru Kumara's delivery straight down the ground for a six. None of the spectators were sitting over there as it was right behind the bowler's arm.

As soon as the ball landed in the stands an enthusiastic spectator ran to grab the ball. He picked it up and instead of thowing it back on the field of play, he took his cell phone out and clicked a picture of the ball. This entire incident consumed a bit of time as the players patiently waited for the ball.

The six was one of the eight sixes that Virat Kohli hit during his stellar knock of 166* off 110 balls. In the course of his marathon innings, Kohli went past his previous second-highest score in ODI cricket (160*) that he had notched up against South Africa in Cape Town.

Virat's blistering century meant that he now has 46 tons in ODI cricket and he is second to India's legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar who has 49 ODI hundreds to his tally. This knock in Thiruvananthapuram also helped Virat to add another chapter to his intriguing streak - scoring hundreds on January 15.

Virat has thus far scored four international tons on January 15. It started off with his hundred against England in an ODI game at the MCA Stadium in Pune in 2017. He then scored a ton against South Africa at the Supersport Park in Centurion in the year 2018. Before adding another layer to the streak at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram today (Sunday, January 15) he had scored a match-winning century against Australia at the Adelaide Oval in 2019.
