Rain played spoilsport in LSG-CSK clash
Talking about the game, Lucknow Super Giants hosted Chennai Super Kings. Both sides aimed to register their sixth victory of the season. Losing the toss, Lucknow came in to bat first. However, the side fell prey to the brilliant bowling attack of the four-time champions.
Missing the services of skipper KL Rahul, the hosts got off to the worst of starts, Manan Vohra and Kyle Mayers opened the innings, however, both batters only managed to amass 24 runs collectively. Furthermore, Karan Sharma, Krunal Pandya, and Marcus Stoinis failed to make an impact as well.
It was the knock of Ayush Badoni that helped Lucknow stabilise the innings. The 23-year-old scored an unbeaten knock of 59* runs in 33 deliveries and helped his side notch up 125 runs on the board. Although rain disrupted the play in the last over of the first innings, the game was called off, and both Chennai and Lucknow shared a point.
After the game, the four-time champions find themselves in third place in the IPL points table with 11 points in 10 games. On the other hand, Lucknow sit in second place with 11 points in 10 games as well.
