IPL 2023: Virat Kohli surprises David Willey’s son with signed bat

Willey headed back to the UK after sustaining a fracture on his toe and an adductor strain.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer David Willey expressed gratitude towards teammate Virat Kohli as he gifted a signed bat to his son with a personal message on it. Notably, RCB were handed with an injury blow as Willey’s fractured his toe and picked an adductor strain during RCB's clash against KKR on April 26 and has been ruled out of IPL 2023.

Willey reunited with his family in the UK and shared a post regarding which shows his son holding the bat gifted by Kohli. The pacer took to his social media handle to thank Kohli for gifting his son a bat with a personalized message on it.

The 33-year-oldwas signed by RCB at the 2022 mega auction for his base price of INR 2 crore. He featured in just four games and got three wickets with an average economy of 7.00. 

RCB name Kedar Jadhav as David Willey's replacement 

Meanwhile, RCB have named veteran player Kedar Jadhav as a replacement, acquiring him for INR 1 crore. Jadhav has played in 93 matches in the cash-rich league and scored 1196 runs at a strike rate of 123.17. 

Speaking about RCB’s campaign, the side is currently riding high on the back of a win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a low-scoring affair as they defended . Faf du Plessis and Co. are placed fifth on the IPL Points Table with five wins in nine outings thus far. They are slated to lock horns with David Warner’s Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 6.
