Former Chennai Super Kings star Ambati Rayudu hosted a dinner party for his former teammates as they were in Visakhapatnam. CSK played Delhi Capitals in a league match in Vizag which also happens to be the birth state of Rayudu. It has been a culture amongst the teammates when the team travels to their local place for a game, players tend to oblige them with a customary feast.

Rayudu signed off from cricket after clinching his sixth Indian Premier League title in 2023. He had been previously part of the Mumbai Indians team before featuring for the CSK franchise. He played a crucial cameo for CSK in the IPL 2023 finals against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. CSK took to Instagram to share the dinner catch-up with the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, and Shivam Dube in attendance.

“The Mandatory Biryani Party when in ATR’s (Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu) town!” the post read on Instagram.

Here’s CSK’s latest post on Instagram:

Rayudu begins his new innings as commentator

After hanging his boots, Rayudu is seen donning the commentator's hat in the ongoing IPL 2024. While he was reserved with his words during his playing days, he now seems to have an unhinged approach while presenting the game. Speaking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s dismal performance over the years in IPL, he provided a no-nonsense insight into their errors while contesting for the coveted trophy for 16 long years.

"Look who bats in the pressure situations for them? Young Indian batters and Dinesh Karthik. Your big-name players who are international players who are supposed to take pressure. Where are they? Are all in the dressing room. This has been happening for over 16 years for this team," Rayudu said while speaking on the Star Sports show 'Cricket Live'.

"This has been their story. When there is pressure, we cannot find any big-name players all young players are coming down the order. Your big-name players go to the top of the order and eat the cream. A team like this will never win. This is the reason why they have not won IPL thus far," he added.
