The clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL 2024 was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. While CSK secured a comfortable 28-run victory to strengthen their playoff hopes, one moment that went viral was Preity Zinta's priceless reaction to MS Dhoni's golden duck in the penultimate over of the innings.
The Bollywood actress, who co-owns PBKS, was full of joy as the crowd favourite was dismissed off the very first ball he faced in the innings. Being asked to bat first, the five-time Champions were batting at 150/7 in the 19th over. CSK sent Dhoni at 9 in to bat to face the last eight deliveries of the innings.
Pacer Harshal Patel who got rid of Shardul Thakur in the previous delivery produced a dream delivery in the last ball of his four-over quota, to castle Dhoni's stumps with a dipping slower ball. As the stumper-batter was dismissed, the cameras panned towards an ecstatic Preity Zinta in the stands. The actress couldn't help but break into a wide smile and applaud Harshal's brilliant wicket.

While Dhoni's golden duck didn't impact the match's outcome much. For Chennai, the win was set up by an excellent all-round display from Ravindra Jadeja (43 runs and three wickets). Their disciplined bowling limited Punjab to 139/9 despite a fighting 30 from Prabhsimran Singh and 27 from Shashank Singh.
"Thought we bowled well. Rahul Chahar and Harshal bowled well and were pretty happy at the halfway point but unfortunately, it wasn't to be. A couple of days off and we go against RCB in a few days so we need to move on and stay headstrong," PBKS stand-in skipper Sam Curran said after the match.
