On Wednesday, April 3, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted the second-highest total in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, scoring 272 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag. The two-time champions then bundled out Delhi for 166 in 17.2 overs, winning the game by 106 runs. This result marked KKR's third successive victory this season, eventually allowing them to move top of the table.

Rishabh Pant, DC captain, put up a stable fight in pursuit of their mammoth 273-run chase. The 25-year-old attempted to keep his side alive, smashing a stunning half-century. He smashed 55 off a mere 25 deliveries, including four boundaries and five sixes.

One of his shots impressed many which went to maximum off Venkatesh Iyer's delivery. Interestingly, that shot prompted Shah Rukh Khan, KKR co-owner, to stand up from his seat. Moreover, the Bollywood icon was spotted applauding the DC skipper for his ferocious six.

"As a batting unit, we talked about going hard (after the target) and that's how we approach these games because it is better to be all-out trying to go for the total than not chase it down," Pant told the broadcasters post match.
