Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri is currently part of the ICC’s elite commentary panel for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and it got him an opportunity to relive his memories at the Adelaide Oval. Shastri took over as the Indian head coach role in 2017 and went on to make huge achievements until his contract came to an end after the T20 World Cup 2021.

The 60-year-old has always been passionate about India winning anywhere in the world and he went through memory lane from India’s last two successful visits to Australia. Under Shastri tenure, India became the first-ever Asian nation to win a Test series on Australian soil and the series victory started off with a win at the Adelaide Oval.

In the 2020-21 visit to Australia, the same venue proved to be a nightmare as India were all out for 36, their lowest-ever score in Tests. However, a spirited Indian side fought hard and came back strong to clinch another historic series victory in Australia for the second time in a row. No wonder, Shastri felt nostalgic while coming back to the ground and he came up with an interesting tweet on Twitter.

Here's the tweet from Ravi Shastri

"The ground where all the fireworks started in Australia. First in 2019 and then off course after the spectacular 36 all out. @TheAdelaideOval #ZIMvNED #INDvBAN @cricketworldcup @ICC," Shastri tweeted.

Meanwhile, India will take on Bangladesh in their next encounter at the Adelaide Oval in South Australia and the weather forecast doesn’t look promising with the rain threat getting bigger. This will be an important fixture for both teams considering the semi-final spots and a win here might seal a position for India in the knockout stages of the tournament.
