Famous cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle recently shared a touching story about Indian star batter Virat Kohli's compassionate nature off the field. The former Indian captain went out of his way to uplift the spirits of a young cancer patient through personal video messages and even meeting her during India's tour of Australia.
Bhogle recollected how a colleague's daughter, battling cancer, found immense strength from a video message Kohli had recorded for her. The short clip proved to be a source of inspiration for the young girl during her arduous fight against the disease.
“There was a colleague of mine whose daughter was very unwell and a form of cancer, and one of the journalists close to Virat Kohli just asked him to record a little message for her, which the cricketer gladly did. After that, I got been touch with the friend's daughter and she told me, you know through my worst periods that message was so important for me,” Bhogle shared on his YouTube channel.

The story didn't end there. Upon learning of the girl's recovery, Kohli took it further during India's T20I series in Australia. Through his wife Anushka Sharma's connections, he arranged to meet the cancer-recovered fan in person at the team hotel and spend time with her.
“And as a celebration for her recovery, the team was in Australia for a T20 series, so through a media colleague who knew Virat's wife (Anushka) the message went across, asking her to meet me at this time at this place in the hotel and he spent half an hour with her and he was very warm and passionate asking about the recovery saying well done,” Bhogle added to the story.
