Team India have secured their place in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as they beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final on Wednesday, November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. A collective team effort was on display as the Men in Blue crushed the Kiwis for the first time in the knockouts of an ICC event.
Following India’s emphatic win, an old Tweet from the former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been going viral all over social media where he had suggested some changes to the Indian team following their humiliating ten-wicket loss against England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022.

Following, India’s crushing defeat, Pathan had given three suggestions to revamp the Indian side. The first was about an opener playing freely, the second was about bringing a wicket-taking wrist spinner into the team and the last one was to bring a tearaway fast bowler.
Seeing the current Indian team ticking all three boxes, a fan asked Pathan how he was feeling seeing his suggestions turn into a reality. The cricketer replied that he was elated and wrote, “Dil baag baag.”
@IrfanPathan भाई, कैसा लग रहा है बराबर एक साल बाद अपनें सुझाव को वास्तविकता में देख कर और अपनी टीम को फायनल्स में देखकर? 😍 https://t.co/Ame4sK2pom

Notably, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been batting with complete freedom at the top of the order having scored 550 runs from ten innings at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 124.15 with one hundred and three fifties to his name. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has also been a wicket-taking wrist spinner and picked 15 wickets from ten matches at an average of 24.53 and an economy of 4.32.

Furthermore, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have been breathing fire with the ball and have scalped 23 and 18 wickets respectively. Hence, the team has worked on three suggestions given by the former all rounder and have got all the pieces of the puzzle together ahead of the final on Sunday, November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be desperate to end their ten-year-long wait of an ICC Trophy by winning the coveted trophy on their home soil.
