The 45th match of the ODI World Cup was played at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bengaluru, between India and the Netherlands. India won the toss and chose to bat first. India batted well as all their heir top batters scored fifties, and Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul made impressive centuries
Captain Rohit Sharma started strong, and Shubman Gill also played aggressively, but they got out after making fifties as Gill scored 51 while Rohit played a brisk knock of 61 runs. Virat Kohli had a bit of a tough start but ended up being the top run-scorer in the tournament. However, he couldn't turn his fifty into a big score. Shreyas Iyer took control, showing strong and aggressive batting, reaching his first-ever World Cup century. KL Rahul played a crucial role, smashing boundaries and breaking the record for the fastest century by an Indian in the World Cup.
In the late part of the innings, Shreyas Iyer hit massive sixes, especially in the penultimate over, where he scored 25 runs off Logan van Beek. Rahul also thrilled the crowd by breaking Rohit's record for the fastest century in the tournament. Despite not reaching their highest ODI World Cup total, India posted a strong 410/4 in 50 overs. Iyer scored 128, and KL Rahul scored 102.
The Netherlands, while trying to chase the target, couldn't get into the game. Some of their batters got decent starts but couldn't convert them into big scores, losing wickets regularly. Wesley Barresi got out early, but Max ODowd and Colin Ackermann had a good 61-run partnership for the second wicket, scoring 30 and 35, respectively. In the end, Teja Nidamanuru hit some good shots to reduce the losing margin, making a decent fifty.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also took one wicket each.
