The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has seen many ups and downs for Lucknow Super Giants. Having played 12 games in the tournament so far, Lucknow have won six and lost five, with one game failing to yield any result. Despite having a lot of positives to talk about, one of the biggest negatives for the side in the ongoing tournament has been the injury of star Indian batter KL Rahul.

Rahul sustained an injury to his right thigh in Lucknow’s clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. Following his injury, Rahul was ruled out for the rest of the tournament and will not be available for the upcoming World Test Championship final as well. Recently, the 31-year-old took to Instagram to share a post of him walking on crutches.

"Out and about," Rahul captioned the post as he was pictured wandering the streets with crutches. Recently, he also made a post where he revealed that he had undergone successful surgery and was on the road to recovery.

Lucknow Super Giants look to seal playoff spot

Lucknow Super Giants recently took on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 58th game of the IPL 2023. Thanks to Nicholas Pooran and Prerak Mankad’s brilliant knocks, Lucknow managed to emerge victorious by seven wickets. By winning the game, Lucknow reclaimed the fourth spot in the IPL points table
They currently have 13 points in 12 matches, and the Krunal Pandya-led side would look to win their forthcoming matches as well to seal their spot in the knockout stages of the competition. They have two games left in the group stages of the IPL 2023.
Lucknow will next take on Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, May 16, and will look to top it off with a win against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, May 20. The team would be keen on winning both games to make their way into the playoffs of the tournament.
