Australia are all set to play their next match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on November 4 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against the defending champions, England.
They have shown great form and consistency after their two early losses against India and South Africa. They have won their last four matches convincingly and are currently placed in the third position in the points table, well on their way to qualifying for the semifinals.
Before their upcoming match, the Australian team are busy preparing themselves in the nets. During a practice session, a local young left-arm spinner impressed everyone with his bowling skills, particularly Australian captain Pat Cummins. Cummins was so impressed that he gifted the young spinner his bat after the nets, as the spinner had dismissed him five times during practice.

It is worth mentioning that the hosting state cricket associations provide net bowlers to all visiting teams for their practice. This incident, where Cummins was impressed and gave the young left-arm spinner a bat as a gift, was heartwarming and will surely boost the confidence of the young bowler.
In the tournament, Australia currently have eight points and a good net run rate. Their batters, especially David Warner, has showcased excellent form, with him scoring 413 runs at an average of 68.83, placing him fourth on the list of highest run-scorers. In the previous match, opener Travis Head also made an impressive century against New Zealand, making his mark in the tournament.
On the other hand, England have been struggling throughout the tournament and appears to be lacking confidence. They have only won one out of six matches and currently occupy the last position in the points table. England will be hoping to improve their performance in the remaining three matches and secure victories to finish in the top eight, as only the top eight teams of this World Cup will qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
