Australia captain Pat Cummins seems determined not to miss any opportunity to hurt the Indian fans. In response to a fan's questions on social media about his favourite memory in India, the fast bowler added salt to the Indian fans' wounds by posting a picture of the Australian team lifting their sixth ODI World Cup title in Ahmedabad.

Cummins, who is currently leading Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, hosted an ‘Ask Me a Question’ session on Instagram on Sunday (April 14). One such fan asked about the cricketer's favourite memory in India and Cummins didn't have to scratch his head to reveal the moment.

Australia won the title by defeating the hosts India by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, 2023. Unbeaten throughout the tournament, the Men in Blue were so close to lifting their second title. But when it mattered most, the mighty Australians rose to the occasion and gave millions a heartbreak.

SRH fans recall Cummins'  'silencing a big crowd' remark to celebrate team's win over CSK

The Hyderabad-based franchise is enjoying a great IPL season and is currently fourth in the points table with three wins from five matches. Their second win of the tournament came against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their home ground, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. SRH fans decided to celebrate their six-wicket win in an intriguing way.

They trolled CSK and their Yellow Army with a finger-on-lips gesture. This was a reference to their skipper Cummins’ iconic 'silencing a big crowd' remark ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The tall man and his troop literally silenced the blue sea in Ahmedabad throughout the match.

SRH's latest win was against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a nail-biter where they won by just two runs. The 2016 champions have had a great run this season, especially in the batting department. They even hold the record for the highest total in IPL history - 277/3 against Mumbai Indians. Cummins and his team's next match is against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 15.
