BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter on 11th January to post a congratulatory message after youngster Prithvi Shaw smashed a brilliant triple century. Prithvi Shaw struck an outstanding 379 off 383 deliveries in the Ranji trophy match between Assam and Mumbai.

Shaw has been continuing his impressive consistency in the domestic circuit for quite sometime now. So much so, that many are reckoning that it's about time the 23-year-old makes it back into the national side. It is to be noted that Shaw played his last game for India back in July 2021.

'Thank you sir' - Prithvi reacts to Jay Shah's tweet

After Shaw's stupendous outing, BCCI secretary Jay Shah posted a congratulatory message hailing the youngster's heroics against Assam. "Another entry into the record books! What an extraordinary inning @PrithviShaw! Congratulations on hitting the second-highest Ranji Trophy score of all time. A talent with immense potential. Super proud! @BCCIdomestic," posted Shah.

In reply, Shaw obliged by thanking Shah for his encouraging words and promised to keep working hard. "Thank you so much @JayShah sir. Your words of encouragement means a lot. Will keep working hard."

Shaw has been out of India action following a series of poor outings. After his recent exploits in the domestic circuit, he was quite opitmistic for a solid comeback. But the BCCI overlooked him in the Indian squads for the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022 and the ongoing bilateral series against Sri Lanka.

In the clash against Assam, The right-handed batter's quickfire 379 is now the second-highest score in Ranji Trophy history, behind BB Nimbalkar's unbeaten 443 runs while playing for Maharashtra against Saurashtra in 1948. Also, Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane contributed a stellar 191 off 302 balls to the total score.
