India skipper Rohit Sharma was spotted visiting Tirupati Balaji Temple along with his family ahead of the eagerly-anticipated Asia Cup 2023. Notably, the marquee ACC event is scheduled to kickstart on August 30, as Pakistan will square off against Nepal in the curtain raiser.

With less than three weeks to go for the Asia Cup 2023, Rohit visited Tirupati to seek blessings along with his wife and daughter, which has sent social media into a frenzy. In addition to this, several fans spotted the cricketer at the temple and clicked pictures despite heavy security for the cricketer.

Notably, Rohit has endured a lean patch with the bat since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as he could only manage to collect a paltry 332 runs in 16 appearances, lacing it with just two fifties at an average of 20.75. In addition to this, he managed to get just 15 and 43 runs, respectively, across both innings of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final against Australia.

However, he made a solid comeback with the bat against the West Indies in the two Tests as he notched up a century (103 runs) and got 80 and 57 runs in the red-ball contest. Keeping in mind the crucial Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup, skipper Rohit will look to keep his momentum intact and play invaluable knocks in the aforementioned events.

Team India will clash with arch-rivals Pakistan in their first game of Asia Cup 2023

Speaking about India’s campaign in the Asia Cup 2023, the side will square off against arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on September 2. The Men in Blue play their second match in the group stage of the ACC event against Nepal at the same venue on September 4.

The squad for the Asia Cup is likely to be announced soon as the same contingent will likely make the cut in the squad for the ODI World Cup as well. Team India will play the five-time winners Australia in their first match of the ODI World Cup, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, in Bengaluru, on October 8.
