Sachin Tendulkar plays gully cricket in Kashmir's Gulmarg, video goes viral

Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar was spotted playing gully cricket with residents in the gorgeous settings of Gulmarg, Kashmir. He also visited the Uri area of Jammu and Kashmir and the Aman Setu bridge and spoke to the soldiers at the Kaman Post, which is next to Aman Setu, during his hour-long visit.

Tendulkar travelled to Kashmir and paid a visit to the Kashmir Willow facility. The Kashmir region is home to a particular variety of willow trees called Kashmir willow, which is highly regarded for its quality. The cricketer recalled that his sister had given him his first bat, which was a Kashmir willow. He also uploaded a video of himself at the MJ Sports Bat factory in Gulmarg on X (formerly Twitter), where the proprietors gave him a tour and let him try out various blades.

"The first bat given to me was by my sister and it was a Kashmir willow bat. Ab main yahan hoon to Kashmir willow ko to milna banta hai. P.S: An interesting fact; some of my favourite bats had only about 5-6 grains. How many grains do your bats have?" Tendulkar wrote on X.

Owner of MJ Sports, Mohammad Shaheen Parray, said Tendulkar paid them a visit unexpectedly. He continued that the batting great also promised to help the Kashmir willow bats.

"We were busy making bats when a vehicle stopped at our gate. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Little Master and his family. He stroked a few bats and was quite pleased with the quality. Tendulkar said he had come to compare the Kashmir willow bats with those made of English willow. We requested him to lend his voice in support of the local bats," Parray was quoted as saying by India Today.
