It has been over 15 years since the legendary Pakistan batter Inzamam-ul-Haq bid adieu to international cricket. But it seems that the former Pakistan captain has still got it all as he turned back the clock when he batted during a tournament for veterans named the Mega Stars League (MSL).

However, it was one of his terrific six that earned him applause from his former Pakistan teammate Shahid Afridi. Representing the Karachi Kings, Inzamam played a cameo knock of 29 runs from 16 deliveries and he dealt mostly in boundaries during his stay at the crease.

During his enterprising innings, Inzamam played a wide range of shots, but it was one of his fierce sixes that stood out from the to show his brilliant power-hitting abilities at the age of 52. Notably, the veteran batter also played his signature late cut which earned him a lot of runs during his illustrious international career.

The MSL features various retired greats of Pakistan cricket including the likes of Shahid Afridi, Mishbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, etc. The MSL is a T10 cricket league comprising six teams. This is the inaugural edition of the tournament which will be played for a week from December 18 to 25. All the matches will be contested at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Inzamam was one of the best batters to have played the game and is one of the few batters in international cricket to have amassed over 11000 runs in One Day Internationals. He had also led Pakistan from 2003 to 2007.

The Multan cricketer to-date remains the only Pakistani player to score 20000 runs in international cricket. Inzamam-ul-Haq was one of the key members of the Men in Green squad that had lifted its first and only ODI World Cup in 1992 under the legendary Imran Khan.

Inzamam’s best performance came in the semis against the Martin Crowe-led New Zealand at Eden Park where he scored a match-winning 37-ball 60 and this knock established him as an overnight sensation in international cricket.
