Shane Watson presents his new book to Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis

Legendary Australia all-rounder Shane Watson presented his newly launched book ‘The Winner’s Mindset’ to star India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli on Monday, April 1. Apart from him, Watson also presented his book to other RCB stars namely Glenn Maxwell and skipper Faf du Plessis.

Du Plessis lavished praise on the former Australia cricketer for putting all his knowledge in one place to help the youngsters learn about the mental side of things in the game. He also encouraged the youngsters to read the book in which Watson has explained everything in simple manner.

“Yeah, I’ve read this book. Very lucky to be one of the first to have read it and also experience all the knowledge that’s in there has gone in here. So, I think it’s an amazing book and I know cricketers in India will absolutely get so much information from this. It’s extremely vital. I think the mental game of cricket doesn’t get talked about a lot and I think Watto has found a very simple way to explain it to Sportsman. It’s a must read, go get it. It’s an amazing book,” said Du Plessis in a video shared by Watson.

Meanwhile, RCB haven’t got off to a memorable start in the ongoing IPL season having won just one game out of three played so far. They began the season with a six-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings in the opening game but later made a brilliant comeback with a four-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the second fixture.

RCB lost their last fixture against KKR

However, the Faf du Plessis-led side failed to continue their winning momentum and lost their third fixture against KKR by seven wickets. The only positive for RCB in the first two games has been the form of Virat Kohli who’s the leading run-scorer of the season so far with 181 runs to his name from three innings at an average of 90.50. 

They will next take on Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 02 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru and will look to bounce back to winning ways.
