The high-octane semi-final clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 saw England emerging victorious against India by 10 wickets. The Three Lions put up a great batting performance while they comfortably chased the 168-run total in just 16 overs.

The Men in Blue set a respectable total on the scoreboard in the first innings, thanks to the fifties coming from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya. The onus was on the bowlers to help defend the total for the side and get ahead in the match.

However, the English openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales fired right from the word go and did not give a moment's peace to the bowlers. The phenomenal partnership further mounted pressure on the Men in Blue which was visibly evident when Mohammed Shami was involved in a fielding error.

Hardik Pandya was bowling to skipper Jos Buttler who played the delivery towards fine leg where Shami was present. Instead of throwing the ball towards the wicketkeeper, Shami tried a relay throw with Bhuvneshwar Kumar that went too high and led to an overthrow.

To make matters worse, the overthrow was taken advantage of by the English batters as they took four runs just by running between the wickets. This incident immediately left Pandya, and Rohit Sharma fuming on the veteran star.

Meanwhile, after the dominating partnership that guided England to the finals, Jos Buttler was overwhelmed with the character projected by the side.

"I think the character we have shown since then (England's loss against Ireland) - it has been amazing. We came here very excited, there was a very good feeling. Everyone from 1 to 11 - stood up today. We always want to start fast and aggressive. Rashid was batting at 11, that's incredible to know that we have such depth. Hales used the dimensions well and he has shown his form. He was brilliant today," England skipper Buttler said after cementing the finals spot in the marquee event.
