“I think the way he led India in the last few years was terrific. He has a tremendous record as a captain. I think all the players respect him as a leader of the team. He’s someone who can take the game away from the opponent single-handedly,” said in a video shared by Star Sports.

Rohit, Shakib to play their ninth T20 World Cup
Bangladesh will enter the tournament on the back of a disappointing performance, having recently lost a T20I series to co-hosts USA by a 1-2 margin. In contrast, the Men in Blue are coming into the tournament fresh from the intense Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The Bengal Tigers' first warm-up game was abandoned due to heavy rain against the USA, and the match against India will serve as their second preparatory match before the tournament. On the other hand, India will play only one warm-up game before the start of the competition.

In T20Is, he has scored 454 runs at an average of 37.83 and a strike rate of 141.43, while in ODIs, his tally stands at 786 runs with an average of 56.14 and a strike rate of 97.27 against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side.
Both Rohit and Shakib are the only two players to have appeared in all the editions of the marquee event so far. The 37-year-old all-rounder is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with 47 wickets. While Rohit is the fourth-highest run scorer in the tournament with 963 runs from 36 innings.
