The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 began in fabulous fashion, and with the start of the tournament, the antics of star Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also returned. Being the highest wicket-taker of the IPL 2022, the 32-year-old's ability on the pitch is second to none; however, he has quite a flair for activities off the pitch as well.

Recently, Chahal was seen grooving to music with star England batter Joe Root in a video that went viral on social media. Rajasthan Royals roped in Root at the IPL 2023 auctions for INR 1 crore, and with the 32-year-old yet to make his debut for the side, he seemed to be getting along quite well with his new teammates.

Talking about the viral video, Chahal recently came forward and reflected upon the origin of the dance moves. In a video posted by the IPL, the 32-year-old said, "Actually that is my favorite song; I listen to it at least 6-7 times a day. The moves were from Joe bhai, because when he had come and we met for the first time, he taught me the moves and told me that we would do this. Then I found a song that would suit the step."

Yuzvendra Chahal in fabulous form for RR in IPL 2023

Being the Purple Cap holder of the IPL 2022, Chahal has continued in similar fashion for Rajasthan. The Indian leg-spinner picked up 27 wickets in 17 matches in the previous season, and has clinched 10 wickets in four IPL matches in 2023 so far.

In Rajasthan’s first game of the season in 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chahal took four wickets and conceded just 17 runs in the four overs he bowled. In the side’s first loss of the season against Punjab Kings, the 32-year-old picked up a single wicket and conceded 50 runs.

He followed it up with three wickets against Delhi Capitals and two in Rajasthan’s latest win against Chennai Super Kings. Spearheading the bowling attack of the Sanju Samson-led side, Chahal’s performances could prove to be the deciding factor in the side’s quest of going all the way and winning their second IPL title.
